Move Furniture and Appliances in/out of the House

When you know the remodeling project is only going to take a couple weeks or less, you may be ecstatic initially. Then you realize that any furniture or appliances in the room to be remodeled has to go somewhere. Clearly, you cannot store such things on the lawn, given animals, bugs, and bad weather, and you have no place inside to store them either.

Now movers can help you move these heavy objects. They can lift and carry them out of the house, and back into the house, too. You do not need to strain your back attempting to move things that will not be in another location for very long before you have to move them back.

Storing Furniture and Supplies

Not only can the movers move your furniture and/or appliances out of the project room, but they can also find a place to put them temporarily. You can either rent a storage space from the moving company for a month or have the company keep the stuff on their truck, parked in your yard until the walls and floors of the project room are complete. The shorter the time needed, the more likely you can request the latter solution.

Asking about One-Time Moves

Even though you would be moving this stuff out, and moving it back in again, both of these moves are considered "specialty moves" because you are not moving things to a new residence. Ask moving companies in your area if they do this type of move. Usually, it falls in line with the type of service that piano movers do, so you might want to try there first. There are other national moving companies that advertise help with these types of moves. 

You may have to hire movers to move and then rent a storage space from another company. It is difficult to get both from a single moving company. If you can, it is advisable since the company might offer a discount on both services. Then you can complete your remodeling project without having to worry about where appliances or furniture will go for the duration of the project.
